J74 HarmoTools - A tool set for Real-Time MIDI harmonization in Ableton Live
J74 HarmoTools is a set of devices for Real-Time MIDI harmonization, adapting multiple MIDI tracks by following chords and / or scales of a leading MIDI track. The tool provides building blocks for MIDI analysis, visualization, filtering as well as creation. Included are also tools for network collaboration. For use within a Live set, eventually in collaboration with other musicians using a TCP/IP network.

Overview of J74 HarmoTools (version 2.0)
Harmonization devices in the set:
- HarmoChord: real-time chord detection and chord information sharing to other devices in the set
- HarmoChordFilter: real-time MIDI input harmonization (filter), based on detected chord information
- HarmoScale: scale definition for the entire live set (selection across 40+ scales, in any root)
- HarmoScaleFilter: real-time MIDI input harmonization (filter), based on detected scale information
- HarmoGuessScale: real-time analyser for scale guessing and scale sharing to other devices in the set
- HarmoAdaptFilter: real-time MIDI input harmonization (filter), based on both chords and scale information
Utilities in the set:
- HarmoDisplay: utility to display MIDI activity (history) on a separate window
- HarmoDisplayGuitar: utility to display MIDI activity, with a guitar frets layout
- HarmoTonicFilter: real-time tuning to the detected chord root (for external sequencer/arpeggio transpose)
- HarmoChordBass: simple sequencer for monophonic lines based on the root of the detected chord
- HarmoScale2Chord: rack of chords (auto-populated using the diatonic rules on the selected scale)
Network tools:
- HarmoChordSend: network collaboration tool, for chord detection to be sent over the network
- HarmoChordRecv: network collaboration tool, for chord detection to be received via the network
- HarmoScaleSend: network collaboration tool, for scale detection to be sent over the network
- HarmoScaleRecv: network collaboration tool, for scale detection to be received via the network
Tested versions:
- Ableton Live 10, 11 and 12 (with embedded Max), Suite or Standard (with Max for Live license)
- Windows versions supported: 10 and higher
- Mac OS versions supported: 10.13 and higher
